Reasons for wanting to join the B.G. community: I'm looking for an active, mature (or at least not full of children) server that I can do some long-term buildng on. I want someplace where I can become friends with the folks I'm playing with, so that means there has to be enough people on to be sociable, but not some crazy busy public server where the chat is so spammy that you can't have a conversation with anyone. From everything I've read so far you guys seem like exactly the right kind of place. I've been on other servers, including ones that I've admin'd, but the most recent couple of have sort of fizzled out from lack of community interest. Eventually you realize that you're basically playing single player on a 30 person server. I'm looking for a more social experience. I like doing big, complicated long-term designs, but grinding away on those by yourself with no one to talk to can get super boring after a while.
How did you know about us:
I saw a post by philodigy on an r/mcservers thread where he talked about how great his experience here has been, and that led me to your reddit post from a week or so ago looking for new players.
When and how did you start playing minecraft:
Ok, so I actually just went and looked this up. Usually my answer to this question is just, "A long time", but I went and dug out the original MC purchase confirmation email. According to the date on that and the version history in the wiki, I've been playing since Beta 1.2_02, or roughly 4 and a half years.
Do you watch streams or youtube videos about minecraft and are you a fan of any popular minecrafters ?: I watch a lot of Mindcrack and Hermitcraft. Vintagebeef, Docm77, and Xisumavoid are probably my favorites.
How good are you in minecraft /10 and in what fields:
I'd call myself an 8/10 builder...but a 2/10 redstoner. Man that stuff confuses me. If I'm building something with redstone there's a good chance that I've got a youtube video on another monitor and I'm just copying whatever they're doing. My big interest is large, complicated, detailed buildings.
Do you plan on steaming or starting a youtube series in the B.G server ?:
No plans to at this point, but who knows.
For how long do you plan on playing minecraft: Well, I've been at it this long and haven't lost interest, so I don't see any signs of that changing soon.
